Cataract procedure

keneddyr

Well so far it’s been successful.

Start time was 7:15. The waiting room was filled with geezers. I was taken back around 7:30. Took about 30 minutes to get ready. The doctor and anesthesiologist came by. They start by putting a bunch of different drops in the eye. Around 8:00 the nurse anestist came in an knocked me out and while you’re out he sticks a needle in your eye and numbs it. Woke up and around 830 I got wheeled into the OR. You’re awake for the procedure. The doctor asked me to focus on the light directly above. Took him about 10/15 to remove the old and insert the new lense. It was a weird experience. The light and sight was definitely impacted as he sliced and diced. Then they wheeled me back and prepared me for departure. The doctor came by to give a status. Then a nurse gave me and Marjie discharge instructions.

I hate being a passenger so the ride home was unbearable. We stopped at Whole Foods. Marjie picked up a few things. I requested water and something to eat. Ate a muffin in the car. Felt a lot better after eating.

Got home and have been sitting here in my recliner under a down comforter watching reruns of Elementary. Kept drifting off to sleep. Around noon I woke up and have started to stumble around the room.

My glasses barely fit with the patch and keep slipping down.

The scratchy feeling has stopped so it feels okay so far.
