Dodged another one

keneddyr

Arrived on time as directed at 900.  Got upstairs at 905.  Went back to the surgical suite around 930.  After some questions got naked. IV started around 945. She had 2 aborted attempts.  They always struggle to hit the spot.  That’s the only thing that irks me about these events.  Took me back at 1115. Out by 1125. Woke up in recovery around 1515. Left the hospital at 1630. Home about 1725.

They used fentanyl as part of the mixture.  I think whatever they used in prior events worked better. I had trouble waking up.  Generally I always sleep when I get home not this time. Wide awake. Probably because I hooked on fentanyl. Bad joke. Two of my cousins kids died from fentanyl overdoses.

Normally it’s one entry point through the groin.  This time there were two.  He used a stitch in the right. Then some kind of a plug or something in the left.

While waiting in the prep area the heart rate kept dropping into the 30s triggering alerts and alarm.  That must happen a lot.  The Pm is doing its job.  Also dropped to 0 multiple times for multiple seconds.  I didn’t feel anything so they must have had a monitoring kerfluffel.

The rate is normal now.  Who knows how long.  It’s been as short as a week after and as long as 10 years.

Read a stat last night that didn’t give me much encouragement on sustaining normal rhythm.   Hopefully it was just the early test results from the pulse field ablation trials and they’ve improved. This type is supposed to be more precise and less invasive.  Time will tell.

Wish I could say I feel fit as a fiddle but not really. They send an airway down you windpipe. And the initial procedure called a TEE sends a probe down your throat.  So my throat took a beating. My private area doesn’t feel great. Don’t know if they manshaved me or what but it’s a bit sore.

French still is kicking my butt.

The grass has taken.

Just have to hope that the surgical site remain infection free and bleeding free.
