For the most part, most of the drivers here aren’t bad. They do drive fast and do not leave much closing distance to prevent people from pulling out. But there are a few nut jobs.
Today I was exposed to one.
The situation was that I had pulled out of the community on to route 1 and set the cruise at 35. The speed limit along this section of route 1 is 40. There is a bend to the right. I came around the curve and a driver on basically a blind curve was backing out the driveway. I quickly braked slowing about 30 feet from her bumper. Anticipating that she would move at a normal pace I let the car roll about 10 feet. She accelerated a bit then brake checked me. I was about 15 feet when she brake checked. She also was flinging her arms about. I thought she was having a seizure. I backed off a pretty good distance. Well guess what, she’s going to where I was going. She went straight and I went left in the parking lot. Then she ends up parking next to me. I’m walking expecting her to say something. She clams up and goes in the store. Watched her for a bit in the store and she was running around the store like a nutter.
Her car was gone when we were finished with our shopping. I noticed as we passed her home her car wasn’t in the driveway.
