We replaced the 2012 Acura with a 2024 Volvo. As always a painful, aggravating, but necessary activity. We picked the car up and for the most part it’s performing well. However, there’s been some issues that I’m trying to figure out.
Fuel filler door - there’s no unlocking mechanism. It’s all automatic. Car has to be off and unlocked. Then you simply press on the door and it’s opens. Well kind of, I’ve had 3 failures to date. The solution which works so far is to use the key fob to, lock the car, wait 10 seconds, unlock the car, then try gas filler door. So far it’s worked 3 times when the door failed to open. Called Volvo, there’s no fix because there’s no problem. BS. I think it’s related to using the volvo app to lock and unlock the car. Some switch is getting set in that process.
Tailgate open by swinging foot - doesn’t work consistently. The cars supposed to be unlocked, then you kick up just below the rear backup sensor. I generally just use the button above the license plate. I need to experiment with this some more.
Tailgate fails to close after opening - there’s two buttons, one closes the tailgate and the other closes the tailgate then locks the car. It seems to fail more often than not. I need to experiment with this some more.
Driver assist and collision avoidance system failed - was driving up the road after leaving the house and a bunch of idiot lights lit. Pulled over and shut the car off. Waited 10 seconds. Problem hasn’t returned.
Exiting car - sometimes when I exit car it shuts off and other time it stays running. The process should be park the car, press the park button, close door and the car should remain running. Sometimes it shuts off and I have to turn the car on. I need to track this.
Adaptive cruise control and driver assist - great feature. Wish the cruise was stable to 1 mph increments instead of 5. Otherwise it’s a great feature.
