The Summer Place

During my walk today I snapped a few pictures of the place. The place needs a good power wash and coat of paint. There needs to be some serious landscaping. Then there’s piles of trash everywhere. My sense is that they have 10 to 15 years of “stuff” that’s accumulated and it will take some time to catch up. They need to bring some dumpsters in and just do it.

Fence is rotted in a few spots and is showing its age, needs a cleaning and maybe even replaced. The pool it’s protecting is still covered.

This flashing has been broken for as long as we’ve been here. Just another little thing that never got addressed by the previous owner.

Mess at pool number 3. This area has always looked rough. The building became functional 2 summers ago.

Pool number 3. Not looking close to being ready. Pool 2 is at least covered. Pool 1 looks like pool 3 uncovered and green. Pool has some electrical issue and might be condemned. Supposedly pool 2 and 3 failed inspections last year. Will they open up this season! I know if they don’t there will be a lot of disappointed folks.

Pool 3 laundry, bathroom and shower. It’s a bit of a mess from this view. No hot water today. I reported it and received a prompt response that it’s fixed. That was encouraging.

I’d hoped when I arrived that there would have been some changes. There are some small subtle changes. Some brush was cutback. The thing that I’m really hoping for is some paving. That would cut down on the dust that gets on the vehicle as well as having to negotiate the potholes from pool 3.

My hopes versus my sense is that we’ll see little in major capital improvement. Unless they negotiated a good deal with the former owner we will end up bringing this place up a notch. It has a long way to go to look like Seavue West or East.
