The trip home

Day 1

The driving is getting harder on me. The trip back wasn't to hard until we hit the Garden State. We got a late start then stopped for a visit and a bite to eat. All these things taken together probably set us back 3 hours. We would have hit the Garden state around 3 instead of 5:30. Just stop and go and crazy drivers until we got on the New Jersey Turnpike. We got to the hotel in Mt Holly around 730. The area has gone through a lot of growth and change over the past 3 years.

Day 2

Stopped at Dunks for a quick breakfast and started south. The ride was pretty uneventful running with the cruise set for about 150 miles. We opted to stop at the Maryland House rest area for a quick pit stop and to figure out how to get around the fact that 95sb was shut down at the next exit. We ended up going 95nb for an exit then heading for route 40 sb. We took that for about 20 miles. The first 4/5 miles were great then we got caught up to all the people that had been kicked off 95sb. We averaged 6mph over the next 90 minutes. 15 miles of traffic and lights. Got back on and the rest of the ride was again pretty uneventful. The east bound leg of 495 had some slowdowns but nothing like the northbound leg. The 95 express lane south of DC was open and we cruised to Fredericksburg. The rest of the ride south went well until we neared Ashland where it got congested. We got off at Lewistown Road to eat at a Mexican restaurant we frequent. Got how around 5 and started unloading the essentials.

Day 3

Completed the unloading and cleanup from the visitors that had been at our home during our time away.
